On 21st November 2006, ACBA organised its 7th basketball your of Asia. We visited the Chinese cities of Shanghai, Suzhou and Yang Zhou and also toured the Japanese cities of Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Iseh. The tour lasted 19 days, with 39 participants making up the Veteran, Dragon and Queenbeez team.
The Dragon team secured the gold medal in the Youth Invitational Tournament in Suzhou whereas the Queenbeez came second. In the 22nd World Basketball Invitational Tournament for Chinese, our Veteran team delivered their best effort but was unable to make the playoff. In the 3 games players, they lost by the narrowest of margin.
After the Invitational Tournament in Suzhou, we travelled to Hangzhou and Shanghai and the Dragon and Queenbeez played exhibition games in both cities. Our boys won in Hangzhou against the Hang zhou University byt lost to the Shanghai Shark Development team by 3 points. The girls won their game also in Hangzhou but lost to the Shanghai Youth team.
In Japan, the Dragon and Queenbeez team played against Kobe University of Foreign Language, Osaka College of Sports and Kansai University of Foreign Language. Both team won all their games.
Overall, it was another successful and memorable 2006 tour.
