This was the first MABA international tournament, with the aim of getting the Malaysian National Team some games training before the South East Asia Games (SEA). Teams that participated were Malaysian National Team, Taiwan Fo Guang University, Taiwan Nanshan High School and Acba Dragons.

Acba Dragons won against the two Tiawanese teams but lost to the Malaysian National Team narrowly in the premlimary rounds. In the finals, Acba beat the Malaysian National team in the last minute.
