2012 Representative Trials
The Australian Chinese Basketball Association invites players interested in joining the Representative Programme to participate in open trials in February 2012. These trials will be used to choose a squad of at least 30 players to participate in the Programme for 2012, before the 2012 Dragons and Tigers teams are selected. This year, both teams will be travelling to Melbourne in April to compete in the annual Easter Tournament as well as Indonesia and up to two additional countries in November/December.
As part of the ACBA Representative Programme Policy, a maximum of three (3) non-Asian players will be selected on each team. Therefore a limit of ten (10) non-Asian players will be selected to be part of the 30 man squad.
The squad will be selected by a panel appointed by ACBA. Participants in the Representative Programme must play in ACBA tournaments and must sign the ACBA Representative Players Code which may be downloaded from the ACBA website. The Representative Players Code will also be discussed in detail with the squad members at the one hour briefing meeting.
The squad will commence training in March 2012 at a time and location to be determined
Trials will be held Sunday, 12 February 2012 from 3pm to 5pm at Auburn Basketball Centre, with the briefing meeting held on Sunday, 18 February 2012 at 3pm.
Players who are interested are asked to register their interest by sending an email with their names and contact details to info@acba.com.au. All queries may be directed to Craig Jacques - 0433 184 329.
